Good morning,

This real time update includes all detection data of green sturgeon from 1/1/2015 through 9:00 am 7/6/2015. New detection records are highlighted in yellow.

GS0481 is the third green sturgeon to be detected moving downstream. This fish was first detected at Sac I-80 and Above Tisdale on 4/24/2015 and 4/26/2015, respectively. For this update, it was detected at the Above Tisdale station on 6/30/2015, then at Sac I-80 on 7/2/2015, moving down river at a rate of 75.7 river kilometers/day. This fish was then detected once inside the DCC. It is not certain if this fish entered and then left, or continued through the DCC. The autonomous receivers will tell the full story.

It is important to note that this is the second green sturgeon in 2 weeks that has entered the DCC on their downstream migration.

There were no new green sturgeon detections on the Hood, Lisbon Weir, or Middle River real time stations.

There have been a total of 23 uniquely tagged green sturgeon detected in the Sacramento River since the real time stations have been operating in 2015. 7 of these sturgeon were originally tagged in Oregon/Washinton. 5 of these sturgeon were part of the the 2011 Tisdale/Freemont Weir rescue fish conducted by CDFW and UC Davis.

Of these 23 green sturgeon, three have migrated down river, below the real time station at I-80 in Sacramento. two of these three have entered the DCC. We know that the first green sturgeon to outmigrate was detected at the Richmond Bridge, as those receivers were downloaded over 5 weeks ago.

As always, the unique ID's presented in this update are not the specific tag ID of each fish. This is to protect the identity of those fish tagged by specific researchers.
